Who should take AI-901?
AI-901 is for people starting a career in AI solution development. You need conceptual knowledge of Azure AI, basic Python syntax, and familiarity with Azure resources. Microsoft replaced exam AI-900 with AI-901 on 30 June 2026. If you already hold Azure AI Fundamentals from AI-900, you do not need to retake it.
What is the average salary for an Azure AI Fundamentals professional?
Passing AI-901 earns the same Azure AI Fundamentals credential as AI-900. It is not a job title and has no published salary band. Holders are often in junior cloud, analyst, or business roles that work with AI services. As of 2026, related US junior cloud and analyst pay is commonly about $60,000 to $85,000, UK data and BI analyst medians are about £36,000 to £52,500, and German data analyst medians are around €50,000. The certification does not set pay.
Where do I find exam questions to practice?
You will find websites selling exam dumps or brain dumps that claim to be real AI-901 questions. Those materials are not official. Microsoft treats using brain dumps as cheating. It can invalidate your score, revoke certifications you already hold, and ban you from future exams. Microsoft publishes a free Practice Assessment for Azure AI Fundamentals on AI Skills Navigator. Those questions are examples only, not the live exam. You can try the Microsoft exam sandbox to see the question types and timer, but it does not use real exam questions. Practise the skills measured in Microsoft Foundry rather than memorising leaked items.
Does the exam include official labs I can use to practice?
AI-901 is a fundamentals exam. Microsoft does not provide official exam labs you can reuse afterwards. Microsoft Learn modules and instructor-led AI-901T00 training delivered by a Microsoft Learning Partner include exercises in Foundry. Those labs are for the course, not a copy of the exam. Hands-on practice is in a free Azure subscription or Foundry project. The Microsoft exam sandbox shows traditional question types only. It does not give you the lab virtual machine.
